Ryan Cross

Ryan Cross is a Pilot at LifeFlight Australia since December 2021. Prior to this role, Ryan worked at the Royal Australian Navy from June 2009 to February 2022, where Ryan held various titles including Qualified Flying Instructor, Helicopter Pilot, and Flight Commander. In addition, Ryan also served as an Operations Watchkeeper at the Australian Department of Defence in April 2016. Ryan completed their education at the University of Wollongong from 2003 to 2006 and attended Eden Marine Technology High School from 1997 to 2002.

The rescue and retrieval service is bolstered by LifeFlight’s seamlessly coordinated suite of aviation and medical capabilities. LifeFlight’s Retrieval Medicine, Training Academy, Coordination Centre, Air Ambulance Repatriation and Engineering and Maintenance capabilities are integral to LifeFlight’s success in providing aeromedical services at home and internationally. The organisation is home to a globally recognised training academy that provides thousands of aviation and medical professionals with world-class training annually. LifeFlight was selected by Queensland’s Oil and Gas Industry as its only aeromedical provider overseeing the safety of its workers. As part of this partnership, the LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service operates aeromedical retrieval services from its bases in Toowoomba and Roma. More than 150 doctors are employed under LifeFlight's Retrieval Medicine division. Through a partnership with the Queensland Government, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctors operate on board majority of the aeromedical retrieval services within Queensland to provide critical care to patients across the state. LifeFlight employs more than 400 staff, all playing a critical role in the lifesaving work that LifeFlight performs each day.
