LifeFlight of Maine

LifeFlight of Maine's vision is a place in which every person, in every community, has access to critical care and medical transport when they need it. We do this by working with our EMS partners to transform the critical care transport medicine system into an integrated, high quality, patient-centered system worthy of the public’s trust. Traveling by helicopter, airplane or ground ambulance, LifeFlight brings lifesaving equipment and critical care nurses and paramedics to emergency scenes and small, rural hospitals throughout the state. Once stabilized, patients are then transported to one of Maine’s three trauma centers, or the nearest appropriately equipped hospital that is capable of caring for the patient’s individual needs. The LifeFlight Foundation provides fundraising and public relations support to LifeFlight of Maine. The LifeFlight Foundation is governed by an elected Board of Trustees, whose members include medical, business, legal and education professionals from across the state of Maine. The Foundation raises funds for aircraft, hospital helipads, statewide aviation improvements and the many training outreach programs offered by LifeFlight staff, including trauma and critical care, brain injury, ground safety, cardiac care and injury prevention programs at elementary schools. The Foundation is also supported by the generosity of donations made by friends of LifeFlight. To find out more about how you can support LifeFlight, contact us at: The LifeFlight Foundation P.O.
