Patrick St. Louis

Clinical Biochemist, LifeLabs at LifeLabs

Since 2014, Dr. St. Louis has been part of the Medical Scientific Division at LifeLabs as a clinical biochemist. In his current role as Discipline Head, Chemistry, Dr. St. Louis has played a key role in supporting integration and development projects in Ontario. Prior to joining LifeLabs, he was the Laboratory Director for North America at LabCorp Clinical Trials, based in Cranford, N.J.

Dr. St. Louis obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto postdoctoral program in Clinical Chemistry and is certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists. Dr. St. Louis has held the position of Clinical Chemist at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children and at CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal, with associated academic appointments. Dr. St. Louis has served in various capacities with several professional organizations including the Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, and the Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute. He currently sits on the editorial board of Lab Tests Online. Dr. St. Louis has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics including muscle contractility, markers of sepsis and point-of-care (POC) testing. He has also made presentations at national and international meetings and congresses.
