Bioscience Lead at Lifeloc Technologies

Curtis Stumpf is currently the Bioscience Lead at Lifeloc Technologies. Prior to this, they were the Owner/Editing Director at Evolution Editing from 2018-2021, where they provided language editing, copy editing, and proofreading services for academics and professional writers. From 2011-2016, they were the Director of Applied Research and a Research Scientist at Crystal Diagnostics, where they managed staff members and drove development of the next generation automated platform. Curtis also acted as a liaison between R&D and customers, answering questions, developing literature, and training new clients. From 2016-2021, they were an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrated Medical Sciences, College of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). From 2012-2013, they were an Editor at AJE - American Journal Experts, where they reviewed and edited scientific manuscripts from foreign authors to obtain publication in English research journals. During this time, they completed over 950 articles in the fields of Microbiology, Virology, Bacteriology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Epidemiology, Infectious Disease, Food Science, Water Quality, Animal Science, Biotechnology, and others. From 2013-2014, they were a Fellow at the University of North Carolina Global Research Institute. From 2006-2003, they were a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they were a Teaching Assistant, grading, and providing one on one tutoring and direction of weekly study sessions. Curtis was also a Laboratory Technician, conducting water quality microbiology lab testing water quality standards for public health in waters of eastern NC, Galapagos Islands, Virginia, and California. Curtis'sdissertation focus was on large scale watershed study examining the fate and transport of fecal bacterial microbes in the New River Watershed, related to stream hydrology and terrestrial runoff. From 2003-2006, they were a Watershed Specialist at The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, where they conducted freshwater mussel and fish surveys in Pennsylvania and New York, including work with endangered species, stream morphology/ physical evaluations, qualitative/quantitative sampling, GIS, and report writing. Curtis also lead educational programs, workshops, and stakeholder meetings for watershed conservation planning.

Curtis Stumpf obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from Allegheny College between 1998 and 2003. Curtis then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Marine Microbiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2006 and 2011. In addition, they have obtained certifications in Dangerous Goods Handling and Shipping from Saf-T-Pak in March 2015, ARCGIS from Esri, and Advanced SCUBA from NAUI.
