Karen Guarco

Karen brings to LifeMine over 20 years of drug discovery and finance experience with a unique blend of Research & Development and Finance expertise.

Most recently, Karen was an R&D and Financial consultant providing broad spectrum support to startup biotechs and established pharmaceutical companies. Prior to that, Karen was at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc where she held leadership roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Global R&D Controller where she led a global finance team in all aspects of R&D financial management, long range strategic planning, process improvement, acquisitions and drove operational excellence. Prior to Alexion, Karen was the Associate Director of Clinical Operation at Vion Pharmaceuticals and she started her career at Bayer Healthcare holding both Research Scientist and Research Operations positions.

Karen earned a BSc in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Finance from the University of New Haven.
