Paul Bains

Director at LifeMoves

As the wealth and opportunity gaps in the Bay Area economy widen and deepen, Project WeHOPE co-founder and President Pastor Paul Bains is continuing his lifelong commitment by helping the most marginalized individuals and families achieve stability and build toward a more promising future.

Located in East Palo Alto in San Mateo County, the mission of Project WeHOPE is to help people become healthy, employed and housed using innovative solutions. Pastor Bains is recognized as a tireless, transformative leader whose vision, actions and collaborative efforts improve the lives of people throughout the Bay Area. Annually, PWH serves 5,000 people of whom more than 60% are of color, 30% are formerly incarcerated, 10% are LGBTQ and more than 90% are living in poverty. The geographic regions served include San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco and Alameda counties.

Today, the programs and services at Project WeHOPE are constantly evolving and expanding to meet emerging needs. The primary activities follow – all reflecting a strong value for meeting people were they are and dignifying who they are.
