Michael Fitzhugh has over 25 years of work experience in the fields of media strategy, editing, writing, and web development. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President and Chief of Media Strategy at LifeSci Communications, a role they started in January 2023. Before that, they worked as the Managing Editor of BioWorld at Clarivate from March 2014 to December 2022. Prior to Clarivate, they served as an Associate Editor at Large, Web Editor, and Writer at Burrill & Company from October 2008 to March 2014. In addition, they worked as a Writer at The Registry from January 2010 to March 2011. Michael also has experience as a Reporter at East Bay Business Times from November 2006 to October 2008 and as a Radio News Intern at Raven Radio - KCAW in Sitka from June 2005 to August 2005. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Web Developer at PlanetOut Inc. from August 2002 to July 2004 and as an Associate Software Engineer and Senior Technical Designer at CNET Networks from August 1997 to October 2001, where they led the development and redesigns of CNET.com and News.com.
Michael Fitzhugh holds a Master of Journalism (MJ) degree from the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. In addition, they have obtained a certification in Hootsuite Platform from Hootsuite in April 2022.
