John Demitz has extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. John started their career in 1996 as an Engineer/Structural Technical Specialist at Bechtel Power, where they developed structural calculations and construction drawings for turbine-generator foundations and conducted evaluations of nuclear containment structures. John later became an Engineering Group Supervisor, managing design execution for multiple project teams and overseeing budgets and schedules. In 2014, they worked as an Executive Assistant to the Corporate Manager of EPC Functions at Bechtel Corporation, where they administered project management committees and collaborated with top project managers on improving project delivery. From 2015 to 2018, they served as a Project Engineering Manager at Bechtel National Inc, responsible for managing the design execution and budget for two EVMS control accounts. After that, they joined engNoveX, Inc. as a General Manager & Principal Engineer, leading hydrogen infrastructure projects worldwide and applying codes and standards. Since 2021, they have been the Chief Systems Engineer at LIFTE H2. In January 2021, they also established their own consulting firm, Sailfish Technical Consulting, LLC, where they served as the Owner until August 2021.
John Demitz earned their Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware, completing their studies from 1989 to 1993. John further pursued higher education by obtaining a Master's degree in the same field from the University of Delaware, studying from 1994 to 1999.
