Rachael Crook

CEO and Co-founder at Lifted

Rachael Crook has a diverse work experience spanning multiple sectors and roles. Rachael is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Lifted, a tech start-up focused on transforming the experience of care for carers and families. Prior to this, they worked as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising companies in various functions and sectors. Rachael also served as a Senior Advisor at the Cabinet Office, leading projects to support reduction of youth unemployment and increase government spend with small businesses, and received an award for exceptional performance. Rachael held the position of Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, where they led initiatives to tackle extremism, hate crime, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Private Secretary and Communications Business Manager at the same ministry. Rachael gained experience in international work as an intern at the Refugee Law Project in Uganda and as a Legal Services Intern at BRAC in Bangladesh. Finally, they served as a Mentor-Teacher at Debate Mate and participated in various roles at BRAC, a development organization in Bangladesh.

Rachael Crook completed their education at various prestigious institutions. Rachael began their academic journey in 2007 at the University of Warwick, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) degree in Politics and International Studies. In 2008, Rachael embarked on an exchange year at UCLA, focusing on Political Science and Government. Rachael returned to the University of Warwick and completed their undergraduate studies in 2010.

Following their bachelor's degree, Rachael pursued higher education at the University of Oxford from 2010 to 2012. Rachael obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree with a specialization in International Relations.
