Daniel B. (Olu) Fagbuyi, M.D. has a long history of medical and public health experience. In 2008, they began their career as an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine, where they provided expertise, medical education training and mentorship for medical students, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and other allied health professionals. In 2011, they were appointed as an Obama Administration Biodefense and Public Health Appointee at the US Department of Health and Human Services, providing expert advice and guidance to the US Secretary of Health and Human Services. In 2012, they were appointed as a Special Medical Advisor at the FDA, conducting gap analysis and identifying areas ripe for development and innovation in the public health, counter-terrorism and emerging threats arena.

In 2013, they joined Response Systems, Inc. as their Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President, providing global disaster response and medical guidance as it relates to local, national, and international markets and business continuity. In 2014, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Erudtion, LLC. From 2017-2018, they were an Emergency Physician at both MedStar Health and TOWER HEALTH AND WELLNES SURGERY CTR, taking care of and stabilizing patients with acute life-threatening injuries and teaching and educating patients, colleagues, residents, interns, nurses, and all other allied healthcare professionals on acute care interventions, research, public health, crisis response and communications.

In 2021, they joined Ligandal as their Chief Medical Officer & Executive Vice President of Business Development & Governmental Affairs. Daniel B. (Olu) is looking to provide solutions to age-old disease processes that have eluded medicine while unlocking the next generation of targeted small molecule therapeutics and solving the delivery problems of gene therapy companies including mRNA and CRISP technologies.

Daniel B. (Olu) Fagbuyi, M.D. began their educational journey at The George Washington University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General in 1995. Daniel B. (Olu) then attended The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 1999. Following this, they completed a Residency at Howard University Hospital from 1999 to 2002. In 2005, they went on to pursue a PEM Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Shadyside School of Nursing, which they completed in 2008.
