Micah Risk has had a diverse and impressive career in the health and nutrition field. Micah began their career in 2007 as a Research Intern in the Department of Gerontology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Micah then worked as a Global InfoBase Researcher at the World Health Organization, a T.E.E.N.S. Intern at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, and a Clinical Research Associate in the Department of Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology at the same institution. In 2012, they worked as a Research & Evaluation Intern at ChildObesity180, and in 2011, they were a Quincy Project Coordinator at Tufts University. In 2014, they began working at Lighter, where they held the roles of Head of Nutrition, President, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Nourishment Officer. In 2018, they became an Entrepreneurship Advisor at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University.

Micah Risk attended Tufts University, Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy from 2011 to 2013, where they earned an M.S. in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition with a specialization in Nutrition Interventions: Design, Operations and Management. Prior to that, they attended Virginia Commonwealth University from 2004 to 2007, where they earned a B.S. in Health, Physical Education, & Exercise Science with a concentration in Community Health Education.
