Marinda Carpenter's work experience includes roles at various companies in the field of autism therapy and child welfare. Marinda began their career at Briar Patch Day Care in 2006, working as a Child Care provider until 2011. In 2012, they joined Gibault Children's Services as a Mental Health Technician and remained there until 2013. Marinda then worked at Adult and Child Health as a Child Welfare Specialist on the Family Preservation Team from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Cornerstone Autism Center. Following that, Marinda joined Engaging Minds Autism Services as an RBT from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they are at Lighthouse Autism Center, where they have held various roles, including RBT, Assistant Branch Manager, Lead Therapist, Senior Therapist, and their current position as Clinical Administrator since September 2021.

Marinda Carpenter earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Psychology from Indiana State University, which they attended from 2008 to 2012. In 2011, they also spent a brief period studying Criminology at the University of Zagreb/Sveuciliste u Zagrebu. Additionally, Marinda has obtained certifications such as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
