Early Intervention Occupational Therapist at Lighthouse Louisiana

Margaret Shepherd is an experienced occupational therapist and dance instructor with a diverse background in early intervention and rehabilitation services. Currently serving as an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist at Lighthouse Louisiana since June 2022, Margaret works with children from birth to three years old while also supporting vision rehabilitation programs for youth and adults. In addition, Margaret has been teaching various dance genres to children ages two to seventeen at the Martha Mayer School of Dance since August 2021. Previous clinical experiences include roles as an Early Intervention & Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapy Student at Sensablearning and as an Occupational Therapy Student at Baton Rouge Rehabilitation Hospital, where Margaret provided holistic therapy services and developed tailored treatment plans for patients with a range of diagnoses. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a Pre-Occupational Therapy Concentration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is pursuing further education at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
