Michael Freedman

Michael has been a leading voice in the life settlement market for the last 17 years. Most recently, he served as President of GWG Holdings, Inc. and its life settlement provider GWG Life, LLC. During his tenure the company achieved record purchases of life insurance assets. For 12 years prior, Michael led the life settlement market’s legal and regulatory development as head of Government Affairs at Coventry First. He was the driving force behind the passage of more than 60 state and federal laws that promote and regulate life settlements, protecting both seniors and investors. Michael has been an officer of the Life Insurance Settlement Association and the Life Settlement Institute. He also served as the Executive Director of the Alliance for Senior Health Care Financing, a Washington, DC-based advocacy organization.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law.
