From 2007 to 2009, David served as a Senior Product Development Engineer at Maxion Technologies, where they were responsible for sensor and laser system design, including designing laser thermal control systems, laser pointing alignment systems, and gas sensors.

Before their time at Maxion Technologies, David worked at Sigma Space Corporation as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where they developed commercial LIDAR sensors and patented laser scanning range measurement systems.

From 1993 to 1994, David worked at Pacific Scientific Company as the Director of Engineering for the Hiac Royco Division. In this role, they introduced the company's first laser-based extinction sensor and designed laser diode-based air particle sensors.
