Charles Cassidy is an operations leader and global management consultant — successful at transforming organizational performance in both early stage and mature enterprises, across financial services and technology.
Charlie retired from Cambridge Associates at the end of 2014. He was recruited to Cambridge Associates in 2006 and promoted in 2010 to Managing Director of the Business Risk Management Team, Charles developed an operational due diligence process and built a global team to conduct business risk management reviews of hedge funds. In 2011 his mission expanded to include all asset classes, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Real Assets. Activities include appraising management teams; evaluating risk, compliance, and control functions; assessing accounting, trading operations, and business continuity plans. During his time at CA he was also Co-head of Hedge Fund Research and spearheaded the implementation of Research Navigator, an on-line research platform.
Charles has an in depth knowledge of alternative investments from both an operational and an investment perspective. He served on CA’s Hedge Fund Advisory Group, which evaluated all client portfolio investments in hedge funds for compliance and risk.
Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, he served as SVP, Marketing, Sales, and Client Services at Prospero Technologies, where he built a national sales team that doubled revenue in one year. Previously, for 25 years at State Street Bank, he held a variety of senior leadership positions. These included Chief Marketing Officer, and Managing Director of the firm’s European Financial Asset Servicing business, where he grew annual revenues from $20M to $100M and AUM to over $100B. He established a bank in Luxembourg, trust companies in the Cayman Islands and Curacao, and the first offshore servicing operation in Toronto, Canada. He successfully integrated several acquisitions and managed high growth operational businesses.
He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
