Principal Photonics Architect at Lightmatter

Jessie Rosenberg has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Starting with California Institute of Technology as a Graduate Student, Jessie studied optomechanics and focused on the coupling between optical and mechanical modes. At IBM, Jessie held multiple roles including Science Strategy Lead for the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, where they were responsible for managing the research portfolio, communicating research outcomes, and collaborating with both technical and executive teams. Additionally, Jessie worked as a Manager and Research Staff Member in Silicon Photonics, leading a research team and developing monolithic silicon photonics technology. They also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IBM, focused on silicon nanophotonic modulators. Currently, Jessie serves as the Principal Photonics Architect at Lightmatter.

Jessie Rosenberg earned a Ph.D in Applied Physics from Caltech between 2004 and 2009. Prior to that, they obtained an AB in Physics from Bryn Mawr College from 2001 to 2004. In their freshman year, Jessie attended Mary Baldwin University for the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted, though no specific degree was listed.
