Michael Gorven

Michael Gorven is a seasoned production engineer with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as a Senior Production Engineer at Lightspark since May 2022, Michael has previously held significant roles at Facebook from October 2013 to March 2022, focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning infrastructure, the Libra/Diem blockchain, and maintaining the operational stability of both Facebook and Instagram. Prior to this, Michael worked at Oracle as a Consulting Member of Technical Staff and contributed to the development of the Nimbula Director cloud operating system as a Software Engineer at Nimbula, which was acquired by Oracle. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town, attained between 2004 and 2007.
