Joel Poythress

Joel Poythress has extensive experience in telecommunications procurement and management, with a career spanning over two decades. Joel began their career in 1997 as a Director at BellSouth and BellSouth Long Distance. In 2006, they joined Neustar as a Senior Account Executive. In 2007, they were a Senior Director of Sales at FunMobility, followed by a Regional Sales Director at CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) in 2009. In 2011, they were a Sales Executive, Industry Solutions Practice at AT&T, and in 2012 they were Vice President - Carrier Operations at ANPI. From 2013 to 2017, they were Vice President - Carrier Relations and Vice President - Wholesale Solutions at Windstream Communications. Since 2017, they have held the roles of Executive Vice President - Sales and Senior Vice President - Strategic and Enterprise Sales at Star2Star Communications. Most recently, they were appointed Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Lightspeed Voice in 2022.

Joel Poythress attended Georgia Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1994, where they earned a BSM in Management and Computer Science. Joel then went on to Central Michigan University from 1996 to 1998, where they earned an MSM in Management - Masters.
