Björn Birkenfelder

Björn Birkenfelder began their work experience in 2011, at DAF Trucks NV, where they served as an Application Engineer for HD truck aftertreatment systems, focusing on DPF. From July 2011 to March 2015, they were involved in coordinating the creation of requirements specifications. From April 2015 to December 2017, they took on the role of Engine Aftertreatment System Owner (DeSoot) and was responsible for integrating components relevant to particulate matter emission reduction into the engine aftertreatment system. Björn also provided key deliverables and coordinated various analysis and design review processes. From January 2018 to March 2022, Björn worked as a Development Engineer for Fuel Injection Equipment. In May 2022, they joined Lightyear as a Quality Engineer.

Björn Birkenfelder received their education in the field of engineering. From 2005 to 2011, they attended Technische Universität Berlin and obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, from 2009 to 2010, they attended Eindhoven University of Technology and obtained a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Maschinenbau. In November 2012, they also obtained a certification in Problem Solving and Decision Making from Kepner-Tregoe.
