Chris Masterson

Chris Masterson has extensive work experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and manufacturing of engine components. Chris started their career at Toyota Racing Development in 2001, where they served as a Senior Design & Analysis Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for designing and analyzing bottom end and thermal management components for racing engines. Chris led projects, collaborated with internal and external teams, and utilized software such as Ansys Mechanical and AVL Concerto to improve engine performance and prevent failures. After their tenure at Toyota, they joined LightSail Energy in 2011 as a Design Manager. Here, they were involved in various aspects of mechanical design, materials selection, and manufacturing of reciprocating air compressors. Chris developed models using tools like Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Fluent, and AVL Excite. In 2016, Chris moved to Modbot, where they held two positions. Initially, they worked as a Senior Mechanical Analyst, focusing on mechanical design and analysis. Later, they took on the role of Hardware Engineering Lead, where they assumed overall responsibility for hardware engineering projects. Currently, Chris is working at Clockwork as a Mechanical Engineer, starting in 2020.
