John Sarsfield has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. John is currently working as an Operations Manager at Lilac Solutions, Inc. since September 2022. Prior to that, in 2022, they worked as a Sustainability Fellow at the Institute for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern, where they were involved in a consulting project for the Environmental Law & Policy Center.
Before their current roles, John spent a significant amount of time at ExxonMobil, where they held multiple positions. John served as a Planning Advisor in the Global Upstream Volumes & Reliability division from February 2020 to March 2021. Prior to that, they were a Production Superintendent at the Jade Platform from September 2017 to February 2020. John also worked as a Construction Engineer, Project Engineer, Integrated Systems Completion Team Lead, Commissioning Superintendent, Quality Completions/Turnover Lead, Site Quality Lead, and Quality Engineer on various projects.
John started their career as a Quality Engineer Intern at ExxonMobil in 2010 and also worked as a Quality Engineer at the company from 2011 to 2012. John gained experience as a Roadway Engineer Intern at AECOM in 2009 and as a US Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Intern at Argonne National Laboratory in 2008.

Between 2007 and 2011, John studied at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Highest Honors. John specialized in Construction Engineering and Management as their primary field of study and also studied Environmental Engineering as a secondary field.
John also obtained the certification of Engineer In Training (EIT) in May 2011 from the FINANCIAL AND PROFESSIONAL REGULATION, ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF.
