Axel Trappmann

Axel Trappmann is an experienced leader in the aerospace industry, currently serving as the Head of Safety, Quality and Compliance at Lilium since December 2020. Previously, Trappmann held significant positions at Airbus Helicopters, including Head of Approvals, Investigations and Standards, where responsibilities encompassed managing quality activities, certifications like ISO9001 and EN9100, and overseeing airworthiness incidents. Prior to that role, Trappmann was the Airworthiness Director at NHIndustries, managing design organization approvals and continued airworthiness for the NH90 helicopter. Trappmann's extensive tenure at Airbus and Eurocopter includes roles focused on integrated logistic support and organizational improvement. Trappmann holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Bundeswehr University Munich.
