Liliʻuokalani Trust

Liliʻuokalani Trust (LT) is a private operating foundation founded in 1909 by Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch, Queen Liliʻuokalani. LT provides a complete array of healing services to kamaliʻi (beneficiary children) and their families to reach their full potential in life. With Hawaiian cultural values and practices as a foundation, our programs – in the arts, sports, ʻāina (land) and creative media – boost self-confidence and instill leadership and resilience among youth. LT has broadened its mission from a social welfare casework focus to include community change initiatives that affect the systems impacting Hawaiian families. The primary beneficiaries continue to be orphan and other desitute children, but our work also emphasizes the building of thriving Hawaiian communities and families that nurture and support their children. Our vision is to make a deeper system impact by focusing on breaking the cycle of poverty for Native Hawaiian families. Our mission: To provide opportunities for Hawaiian children to realize their greatest potential: Living healthy, joyful, & prosperous lives, contributing positively to their families, communities & the world.
