Nicole Hollander is an accomplished educator and creator, currently serving as an instructor at The Art Institute of Chicago, where courses on graphic narratives for graphic novels are taught. Hollander also teaches storytelling and memoir workshops at Lillstreet Art Center and has been a cartoonist and blogger for Badgirlchats.com since 2009. As the creator of the syndicated cartoon strip SYLVIA since 1979, Hollander's work appears in over 30 newspapers nationwide. The author of notable works such as "The Sylvia Chronicles" and "Tales of Graceful Aging From the Planet Denial," Hollander's writings often reflect a humorous and critical perspective on contemporary life. Hollander holds an MFA in Painting from Boston University and a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
