Matt Lathrum

Windows Engineer/architect at Limelight Networks

Matt Lathrum has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Matt started their career in 1991 at LDI Technologies, where they worked as a Retail Systems Assembler, involved in R&D for new cases and providing technical support. Matt later transitioned to a Help Desk Technician role, providing troubleshooting assistance over the phone and maintaining nightly polling.

In 1994, Lathrum joined Cole National Corporation as a Help Desk Technical Specialist, responsible for technical phone support and managing the Helpdesk Expert Automation Tool. Matt later became the Help Desk Coordinator, overseeing three Help Desk specialists and coordinating software and hardware pilots.

In 1996, Lathrum joined Motorola, initially as a Programmer Analyst and Email Backbone Administrator. Matt played a role in maintaining and expanding the worldwide Motorola email backbone and supporting multi-OS gateways. Matt also supported the transition of the email backbone to SMTP relays. Later, as an Exchange Administrator, they managed the Exchange network distributed worldwide.

In 2001, Lathrum joined General Dynamics C4 Systems as a Messaging Architect, designing and implementing the messaging architecture for GD Decision Systems. Matt migrated the organization to its own domain and implemented various technologies, including AD 2000 and Exchange 2000.

Lathrum then joined Apollo Group in 2005, starting as a Senior Messaging Engineer, where they led the move of all Exchange servers to a new datacenter and led server consolidation. Matt later took on the role of Senior Systems Engineer, focusing on non-messaging systems design initiatives and project management. Matt also served as a Solutions Architect, reviewing and approving new projects and implementing Systems Center Operations Manager 2012 and Orchestrator.

From 2013 to 2014, Lathrum worked at DISYS as a Sr. Exchange Engineer. Matt was responsible for a cross-forest migration project for MS Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013, ensuring an enterprise-grade implementation.

Lathrum's most recent work experience is with Limelight Networks, where they started in 2014 as a Windows Engineer/Architect.

Matt Lathrum attended Bradley University from 1990 to 1992, where they studied Computer Science and Business. Matt did not obtain a degree during this time. In terms of additional certifications, Matt obtained various Microsoft certifications throughout the years. In 2009, they became a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, with specializations in Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008 and Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008. Matt also earned certifications as a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Microsoft Windows Vista Configuration, Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration, Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration, and Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration. In 2012, they obtained the certification of Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate in Windows Server 2008.
