Liminal
Nicolas Delgado Alcega co-founded Liminal, a research, design and consultancy group focused on addressing future challenges for the Italian countryside. Nicolas has also served as the Executive Vice-President in this role. Alongside this, they have worked as a Principal at Alliata / Alcega since 2014. In addition, they have been involved with Pairs, a journal at Harvard GSD, where they served as the Founding Editor and Editor of two issues. Nicolas has also held positions as an Instructor at Harvard GSD Design Discovery, a Lecturer at the University of Washington College of Built Environments, and as an Entrepreneur in the Venture Incubation Program at Harvard Innovation Labs. Earlier in their career, Nicolas worked as an Architectural Intern at Cure and Penabad.
Nicolas Delgado Alcega completed their education at three institutions. From 2012 to 2017, they attended the University of Miami and obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Nicolas then pursued further education at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design from 2018 to 2020, earning a Master of Architecture II degree with distinction. Additionally, they attended the University of Miami School of Architecture during the same period, but no specific degree or field of study information is available.

Liminal
Liminal is a research, design and consultancy group that uses a multi-disciplinary approach to tackle the challenges that lie ahead for the Italian countryside in the coming century. Liminal is made up of experts and professionals in the fields of sustainable development, urban planning, architecture, landscape, economics, data-analytics and law. Liminal works with local communities, private agencies and government authorities to reimagine the future of rural communities in Italy struggling with depopulation, disinvestment, degrading infrastructure, and mounting environmental stresses. We partner with committed stakeholder–large and small–to catalyze actionable changes that can transform the future of these territories through research, design and consultancy. By employing an innovative multi-disciplinary approach grounded on an understanding of the spatial and material realities of these places, we believe we can make a unique contribution to the decision-making processes that are shaping them.
