Dr Tom McColm

Dr. Tom McColm has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dr Tom currently serves as a Partner - clean-tech equity specialist at BADEN HILL LLP since November 2017. In addition, they are a Founding Director at LiNa Energy since August 2017.

Prior to this, Dr. McColm worked at Zeus Capital as an Equity Research Director - clean-tech from October 2012 to September 2017. Before that, they served as an Equity Research Director - clean-tech at Allenby Capital Limited from June 2009 to September 2012.

Furthermore, Dr. McColm gained experience at Peel Hunt as an Associate Equity Research Director - clean-tech from December 2006 to January 2009.

Dr Tom'scareer started in 1994 as a Quantitative Analyst at Gerrard and National Intercommodities ('GNI'). Following that, they worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Chemistry from September 1999 to September 2001. Dr Tom then moved to the Department of Materials Engineering as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow from September 2001 to December 2001.

Dr. McColm's earliest corporate experience was as a Development Engineer and Senior Scientist at Ceres Power, where they were the first technological recruit into the solid oxide fuel-cell company. Dr Tom joined in January 2002 and remained until September 2006, contributing to the development of the company's initial power-producing cell.

Dr Tom McColm completed their education with a strong focus on materials engineering. Dr Tom started their academic journey at the University of Oxford, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Master of Arts (MA) degree between 1985 and 1989. Dr Tom then pursued further studies at the University of Idaho from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Dr McColm's educational journey culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, which they completed between 1995 and 1999.
