Jim Dutton

Director, Generation Operations at Lincoln Electric System

Jim Dutton has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jim began their career in the US Navy as a Damage Control Assistant on the USS Chandler (DDG-996), where they were responsible for the ship's damage control activities. Jim then worked as an Enlisted Programs Officer and later as an Officer Programs Officer at NRD Omaha- US Navy, where they supervised personnel and resources to achieve recruiting goals.

Following their service in the Navy, Jim joined Lincoln Electric System, where they held various roles. Jim served as a Supervisor of Generation Operations at the Terry Bundy Generating Station, overseeing day-to-day operational activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Jim was then promoted to Plant Manager, responsible for the overall management of a combined-cycle power plant and landfill gas electrical generation facility. In their most recent role as Director of Generation Operations, Jim managed the department's operations, planning, and coordination, ensuring efficient power generation across multiple facilities. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to regulatory compliance.

Jim Dutton's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which they obtained from 1990 to 1996. Jim also attended the US Naval Nuclear Power School in 1989 to 1990, where they pursued studies in Naval Nuclear Propulsion. From 2016 to 2019, Jim Dutton pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Leadership and Managing Teams Through Change at Concordia University, Nebraska.
