Badri Narayanan

Badri Narayanan has extensive work experience in the field of welding consumables and materials science. Badri currently serves as the VP of Global Consumables at Lincoln Electric, a position they started in March 2021. Previously, they held the role of Director of Global Consumables Strategy at the same company from September 2017 to March 2021.

Prior to their tenure at Lincoln Electric, Badri worked as an Adjunct Professor at Case Western Reserve University starting in March 2012. Badri also held various roles at Lincoln Electric, including Manager of FCAW-S Consumable Development from January 2012 to December 2014, and Development Engineer from January 2009 to December 2011. In these positions, they were responsible for strategic product development, new product development, and conducting research on welding consumables.

Before joining Lincoln Electric, Badri conducted industry-sponsored research at The Ohio State University from August 2006 to May 2009. Badri'sresearch focused on the development and characterization of ferritic weld metal. Badri also worked as a Graduate Research Associate at the CISM-Center for Industrial Sensors and Measurements from August 1997 to May 2000, where they developed proton conducting solid electrolyte gas sensors for hydrocarbon detection in automotive applications.

Additionally, Badri served as a Graduate Teaching Associate at Ohio State University from January 1998 to January 1999. In this role, they taught undergraduate laboratory courses on materials and microstructure characterization, as well as a class on Thermodynamics of Materials.

Badri Narayanan completed their education with a BSc. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Ranchi University between 1992 and 1996. Badri then pursued an M.S degree in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University from 1997 to 2000. Later, they completed their Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University between 2006 and 2009.
