Elio Benitez

Elio Benitez, MHRM, currently serves as the Director of Human Resources People & Culture at Lincoln Park Zoo, a position held since April 2024. With over five years of HR managerial experience as a consultant and HR Manager/Spanish Language Specialist since July 2015, Elio has effectively overseen HR generalist functions, payroll processing, and the development of HR policies and procedures. Previous roles include Human Resources Manager at Flying Food Group from April 2018 to May 2024 and Marque Medicos Management Services Corp. from March 2009 to June 2015, where Elio led HR tasks including payroll and regulatory compliance. Additionally, Elio has experience in marketing and advertising, notably serving as Marketing and Advertising Manager at Univision Communications Inc. and as a sports commentator for the Chicago Cubs. Elio holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Loyola University Chicago.
