Marilyn Schaffer

Marilyn Schaffer has extensive experience in planned giving, currently serving as the Director of Planned Giving at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago since August 2008, where responsibilities include managing the zoo's planned giving program and successfully tripling membership in the planned giving honor society over six years. Prior to this role, Marilyn Schaffer was the Director of Gift Planning at Advocate Charitable Foundation from 2000 to 2008, collaborating with development officers across multiple hospitals to cultivate and steward planned giving donors, while also providing training to development staff. Educational background includes a M.A. in Learning Disabilities from DePaul University, an M.A.T. in Science Teacher Education from Northwestern University, and a B.A. in Biology from Lake Forest College.
