Director, Davee Center For Epidemiology & Endocrinology at Lincoln Park Zoo

Rachel Santymire possesses extensive experience in the fields of epidemiology, endocrinology, and environmental science. Currently serving as a Laboratory Supervisor at Georgia State University since September 2020, Rachel also holds the position of Director at the Davee Center for Epidemiology & Endocrinology at Lincoln Park Zoo since 2009. In addition, Rachel contributes to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago and as Faculty at the University of Chicago, both since 2009. Rachel's research expertise is further demonstrated through the role of Research Associate at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, also held since 2009. Rachel earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science from George Mason University (2000-2005), a Master of Science in Animal Physiology from Clemson University (1996-1998), and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences from Clemson University (1992-1996).
