Sunny Nelson has extensive experience in the field of zoology and animal biology, currently serving as Vice President of Conservation and Science at Lincoln Park Zoo since March 2013. Prior roles at Lincoln Park Zoo include Hope B. McCormick Curator of Birds and Wildlife Policy and Curator of Birds, as well as Zoological Manager and Lead Keeper. Prior to joining Lincoln Park Zoo, Sunny Nelson worked at Zoo Atlanta from 1998 to 2009, holding positions as Lead Keeper and Zookeeper. Sunny Nelson holds a Master’s degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Miami University and a Bachelor's degree from Auburn University.
