Cedric Cooper

High School Principal at Lincoln Public Schools

Cedric Cooper has over 20 years of work experience in the education field. Cedric began their career in 2000 as a Physical Education Teacher at Omaha Public Schools, where they focused on implementing the district's curriculum and providing differentiated instruction to their students. In 2010, they transitioned to the Avenue Scholars Foundation as a Talent Advisor, where they provided guidance and support to students. In 2014, Cedric became the High School Principal at Torrington High School, where they led cultural and structural changes, supported staff and stakeholders, and analyzed assessments. Most recently, Cedric joined Lincoln Public Schools in 2018 as the Middle School Principal, overseeing the development of the school's culture and systems. In July 2021, they transitioned to the role of High School Principal, preparing for the opening of a new high school in August 2022. Throughout their career, Cedric has been a leader of change, an advocate for all stakeholders, and a provider of staff development.

Cedric Cooper has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Development from Montana State University-Bozeman, which was obtained from 1994 to 1999. Cedric later pursued a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Doane University, completing it from 2012 to 2014. Recently, they finished a Specialist Degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration, Superintendency from Doane University as well, which they obtained from 2020 to 2023.
