Pedro Costa

Pedro Costa began their career in 2008 as an IT Technician at Faculdade Arnaldo, where they also worked as a PHP Web Developer and Web Designer for one year. In 2010, they worked as a Software Developer at Turbosite and a LAMP Stack Web Developer at Wmax Internet. Later in the same year, Pedro worked as a LAMP Stack Web Developer at Conekta Logistica Eletronica. In 2015, they joined Perfect World Entertainment, Inc. as a Web Developer. Finally, in 2016, Pedro became a Senior Software Engineer at Linden Lab, acting as the lead engineer for several important projects. Pedro was responsible for one of the most sensitive code bases of Second Life, billing and digital payments integration, and worked with Product to trim down a backlog of 1000+ open tasks to ~200 in a few months. Pedro also had experience with Payment Gateway Integration w/ Paypal, Ingenico, Worldpay, Adyen, Skrill, and virtual currency/wallet, and worked with Finance, Legal, Data Warehouse, and Compliance teams to comply with US and International regulations for digital payments as well as Liability Reporting. Pedro had experience with card/token migration between different payment service providers, and was skilled in Backend Software Engineering using LAMP or Django with the ability to take on basic/intermediary Front End tasks/needs.

Pedro Costa obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte between 2008 and 2012. Pedro then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Science at San Francisco Bay University from 2014 to 2015. During this time, they also obtained an English as a Second Language (ESL) certification from Lindenwood University in 2014. In May 2014, Pedro Costa obtained a Zend Certified PHP Engineer certification from Zend Technologies.
