Ben Lloyd Pearson has a diverse range of experience in the technology industry. Ben Lloyd currently holds the position of Director of Developer Marketing at LinearB since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as Director of Developer Marketing at Mattermost from April 2021 to February 2023, leading a team in attracting and engaging new developer audiences.

Before their role at Mattermost, Pearson was the Lead Developer Advocate at Nylas from June 2019 to April 2021. In this role, they planned and implemented content strategies to engage developers and advocated for the developer community. Ben Lloyd also played a crucial role in producing technical content to achieve marketing goals.

Pearson's expertise in open source engineering was showcased during their time as an Open Source Developer Advocate at Verizon Media from April 2018 to June 2019. Ben Lloyd defined and executed policies to promote best practices and reduce barriers in open source engineering, merging multiple brands under a single open source release process.

From 2014 to 2018, Pearson served as the Open Source Strategy and Operations Manager at Samsung Electronics. Here, they provided open source leadership within the company, helping other divisions understand and participate in open source development. Ben Lloyd also represented Samsung in the wider open source community.

Pearson's passion for open source technology extended to their role as the Editor of Open Source Today, a news blog from June 2013 to June 2017. Ben Lloyd kept track of industry trends and developments, informing others and making strategic decisions.

Additionally, Pearson has experience in teaching as an Adjunct Professor in Information Technology at Southern New Hampshire University from October 2014 to April 2016. Ben Lloyd taught various IT subjects, leveraging their collaborative skills gained from the open source industry.

Prior to their teaching role, Pearson worked as a Developer Programs Specialist at The Linux Foundation from May 2014 to September 2014. Ben Lloyd contributed to event planning and conducted analytical research on new developments in open source technology.

Before entering the technology industry, Pearson held positions as a Systems Administrator at University Estates from May 2011 to September 2014, and as a Nightly Systems Administrator at Auctor Corporation from May 2007 to September 2014.

Ben Lloyd Pearson completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Music Technology from Ball State University from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Information & Communication Sciences from Ball State University, which they attained from 2012 to 2014.
