Erik Laansoo

Erik Laansoo is a Developer at Lingvist. Erik has previously worked as a Principal Software Development Engineer at Microsoft, where they were responsible for the overall architecture and low-level backbone components of Windows 8 - style version of Skype. Their key technologies include C++11, Lua, COM, Javascript, and HTML.

Before working at Microsoft, Erik Laansoo was a Senior User Interface Developer at Skype. Erik led the team in establishing coding standards and measuring and improving application performance. Erik also took the code base through several major architectural changes without compromising ongoing development. Furthermore, Erik Laansoo designed and built a flexible, high performance user interface framework and delivered several sophisticated and visible features. Erik participated in development of data and protocol design, APIs and security policies. Their key technologies at Skype included Borland Delphi, C++, Win32, XML, and Lua.

Erik Laansoo has a Master's Degree in Integrated Circuit Design from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same school. Erik also attended Tallinna Reaalkool.
