Edoardo Calia has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Edoardo started their career as an IT manager at Politecnico di Torino and later became the Deputy Director and Research Director at ISMB, where they worked on strategic programs related to Smart Cities, Smart Energy, and e-Health. Edoardo also served as a member of the steering committee and cross-cutting technology panel for the Renewable Heating and Cooling Platform.

In 2012, Edoardo co-founded iStarter, a prominent angel-led accelerator, where they worked as a co-founder and equity partner until 2020. Edoardo also became a member of the WG Energy Supply & Networks at the Smart Cities and Communities Platform during this time.

In 2016, they joined the Associazione Italiana per l'Informatica ed il Calcolo Automatico (AICA) as a member of the management board, contributing to the promotion and exchange of knowledge in the field of ICT.

Edoardo's passion for emerging technologies led him to become a member of the IOTA Evangelist Network (IEN) in 2018, where they immersed himself in understanding the basics of the IOTA project.

In 2019, they took on the role of Deputy Director at the LINKS Foundation, a position that they held until 2021 when they transitioned to the role of Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Edoardo is responsible for building the research roadmap and vision of LINKS, as well as strengthening strategic partnerships and alliances.

Additionally, Edoardo holds the position of Senior Technology Advisor at Wiseside and is an equity partner at ClubDealOnline.com.

Edoardo Calia completed their Master of Science in Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, where they studied from 1987 to 1992. Edoardo then pursued their academic journey at the same institution and obtained their PhD in distributed computing from 1989 to 1992.
