Christian Zakian is a seasoned expert in photonics and medical imaging with extensive experience in both research and development. Currently serving as Principal Photonics Engineer at Liom since April 2022, Christian leads innovative projects involving Raman and NIR spectroscopy for non-invasive biomarker prediction in medical applications. Previously, Christian held roles as Group Leader in Optoacoustic Endoscopy and Senior Research Scientist at HelmholtzZentrum München, where significant contributions were made to the field of optoacoustic imaging. Additional experience includes consultancy in medical imaging, training in advanced ophthalmic imaging devices, and leadership in R&D at Kevork. Academic credentials include a PhD in Medical Optics and Laser Physics from the University of Manchester and a Master's in inflammation cellular and vascular aspects from Queen Mary University of London.
