Richard Mallah serves as the Executive Director of the Center for AI Risk Management & Alignment since November 2022, focusing on improving AI risk management through research and education. Concurrently, Richard has been a Principal AI Safety Strategist at the Future of Life Institute since April 2014, working on AI analysis and policy. Additional roles include Senior Advisor at Lionheart Ventures and Successif, and Executive Committee Member for the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. Richard's previous experience also encompasses advisory positions at Causative Labs, Mauhn, and The Future Society, among others. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University and has completed additional certifications in Algorithmic Trading, Complex Systems, and Persuasive Communication.
