Robert Grootjans has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Robert has worked at LioniX International since 2016, where they are currently a RF Design-engineer, Project Manager, and Coordinator for Multi-Project Wafer Runs. In this role, they design high frequency interfaces for broadband Microwave Photonic applications and manages several projects involving Microwave Photonics and Silicon Nitride chip production.
Prior to their current role, Robert worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Twente in 2015. Robert also had a role as an Occupational Trainee at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research in the same year. During this time, they characterized the RF-parameters of the Kaelus true time delay analogue beamformer during the Pre-Construction Phase for the Square Kilometre Array low frequency segment.
In 2013, Robert worked as a Student Researcher at the Telecommunication Engineering group at the University of Twente. In this role, they designed RF-Field probes for the measurement of field strengths in three directions. The probes were wideband and logarithmic with a dynamic range of up to 60 dB.
In 2014, Robert briefly worked as a Consultant at LED Consultancy.
Overall, Robert Grootjans has experience in RF design, project management, coordinating multi-project wafer runs, teaching, and research in the field of microwave photonics, radio astronomy, and telecommunications.
Robert Grootjans has an education history in electrical engineering. Robert received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Twente, which they pursued from 2007 to 2012. Following their bachelor's degree, they furthered their education at the University of Twente and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in electrical engineering from 2012 to 2016.
