Lions Eye Institute
JoAnne Forrest has extensive experience in the field of clinical research. JoAnne is currently serving as the Director of Clinical Research at Lions Eye Institute since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Linear Clinical Research Ltd as the Director of Early Phase from August 2020 to July 2022. JoAnne also held the position of Interim Clinical Research Manager at Lions Eye Institute from September 2019 to January 2020.
Before joining Linear Clinical Research Ltd and Lions Eye Institute, JoAnne worked as a Senior Project Manager at PRA Health Sciences from June 2017 to February 2019. JoAnne also served as a Clinical Project Manager II at Syneos Health from December 2015 to June 2017.
Earlier in their career, JoAnne held the role of Senior Clinical Project Manager at Alimentiv (Formerly Robarts Clinical Trials) from May 2012 to December 2015. JoAnne gained valuable experience as a Clinical Research Associate/Clinical Trial Coordinator at London Health Sciences Centre/Western University from July 1996 to May 2012.
JoAnne Forrest has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Humanities from Western University. JoAnne also holds a Graduate Certificate in Communications and Public Relations from the same university.
Lions Eye Institute
The Lions Eye Institute is a not-for-profit centre of excellence that combines world class scientific research into the prevention of blindness with the highest level of eye care delivery. It incorporates one of Australia’s largest ophthalmic practices, including a Day Surgery and a Laser Vision Centre. The Institute also houses the Lions Eye Bank, Lions Optics, Lions Outback Vision and the Lions Save Sight Foundation WA. The Lions Eye Institute actively participates in numerous clinical trials which enable scientists, ophthalmologists and pharmaceutical companies, both nationally and internationally, to develop new treatments for eye diseases. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Lions Eye Institute relies on community support to continue its quest to save sight.
