Samantha Lee is a Senior Research Fellow at the Lions Eye Institute, with a career spanning over a decade in ophthalmic research and education. Currently, Samantha serves as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia while previously holding the position of Adjunct Research Fellow at the same institution. Samantha's doctoral research at Queensland University of Technology focused on the eye movement patterns of older drivers with visual impairment, contributing valuable insights into road safety for this demographic. Additionally, Samantha has experience as a Research Optometrist at the Singapore Eye Research Institute and holds a PhD in Optometry from Queensland University of Technology and a BSc(Hons) in Optometry from The University of Manchester.

Lions Eye Institute

The Lions Eye Institute is a not-for-profit centre of excellence that combines world class scientific research into the prevention of blindness with the highest level of eye care delivery. It incorporates one of Australia’s largest ophthalmic practices, including a Day Surgery and a Laser Vision Centre. The Institute also houses the Lions Eye Bank, Lions Optics, Lions Outback Vision and the Lions Save Sight Foundation WA. The Lions Eye Institute actively participates in numerous clinical trials which enable scientists, ophthalmologists and pharmaceutical companies, both nationally and internationally, to develop new treatments for eye diseases. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Lions Eye Institute relies on community support to continue its quest to save sight.
