Sam Fletcher

Sam Fletcher is a highly experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer currently at Litera since December 2023. Previously, Sam served as a Senior Research Scientist at Zuva from August 2021 to July 2023, where key contributions included leading cross-team projects and developing a hierarchical document classifier for over 200 document types. Prior to that, Sam was an Applied Research Scientist and Research Scientist at Kira Systems, focusing on machine learning solutions for natural language processing and securing a patent for a confidentiality-preserving training method. Sam's early research work as a Research Fellow at Central Queensland University involved multi-objective evolutionary algorithms, while a PhD conducted at Charles Sturt University led to the invention of a leading differentially private decision forest algorithm. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and a First Class Honours Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, both from Charles Sturt University.
