Literacy Design Collaborative
Maya Welch, M.Ed., is an experienced educator and curriculum developer with a strong focus on history and social studies. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Program Development at Literacy Design Collaborative since November 2022, Maya has a history of contributing to educational content across various organizations, including Newsela as a Social Studies Unit Contributor and LearningMate as a Subject Matter Expert and Curriculum Expert. With a background in teaching at the Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter Public School and The Ursuline School, Maya has developed anti-racist curricula and standards-aligned educational materials that promote critical thinking. Maya holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of the Holy Cross.
