Karen Rogel is currently the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Literacy in Community (LINC), where Karen focuses on building literacy cultures in neighborhoods. Karen also serves as the Owner/Designer of Infinite Moments, Inc., providing event planning and theme designs. Previously, Karen was the Service Coordinator Supervisor at Rockland Childrens Developmental Services. Karen holds a BA in Psychology from Hofstra University.

“When a child reads, a community succeeds!” Right now, 3 out of 4 students living in poverty leave 3rd grade reading below grade level. This can translate into a lifetime of struggle. To change this, Literacy Inc. (LINC) employs an innovative strategy that unlocks the power which already exists within every community. LINC builds partnerships between families, educators and community stakeholders, creating neighborhood networks that surround children with books and fun, skill-building reading opportunities. LINC grows the early habits of reading that are vital to ensuring a child’s future success, in school and beyond.
