Yolanda Waldon

Yolanda Waldon has a diverse work experience spanning various educational and nonprofit organizations. Yolanda is currently employed at Literacy KC as the Chief Workforce Officer, a role they began in May 2023. Prior to this, Yolanda served as the Director of Workforce Development at the same organization from July 2022 to April 2023. Before joining Literacy KC, they worked at the Kauffman Foundation as the Chief Student Officer-Skilled KC Technical Institute from August 2019 to March 2022. Yolanda also held positions at Kauffman Scholars, Inc., where they served as a Postsecondary Retention Specialist from March 2017 to August 2019 and as a Postsecondary Advisor from October 2013 to March 2017. Additionally, they were the Dean of Early College Programs at ACE Collegium Campus from August 2008 to August 2012. Yolanda began their career as a Regional Admission Representative at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in August 2005. Yolanda also worked as the Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment and Retention at the University of Central Missouri from 2001 to 2004.

Yolanda Waldon obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Central Missouri in 2000. Yolanda also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from Jackson State University, although the dates of their enrollment are unknown. In addition to their formal education, Yolanda Waldon has obtained various certifications including Career Pathways Leadership Certification from the National Career Pathways Network in April 2023, Central Exchange Emerging Leaders Graduate certification from Central Exchange in August 2019, Educational Leadership certification from the Surge Institute in August 2019, and a Creating Your Personal Brand certification from LinkedIn in February 2019.
