Tu Nguyen

Tu Nguyen is a Learning Center Coordinator at the Open Door Learning Center - Lake Street. Tu’s father attended class through Literacy Minnesota when his family moved to Minneapolis in 2000 from Viet Nam, so Tu’s work at Lake Street holds very significant meaning for him. Prior to joining Literacy Minnesota, Tu worked as a classroom assistant at FAIR school, ESOL tutor at Hennepin Technical College, and Literacy Instructor at Neighborhood House. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Youth Development from the University of Minnesota, and TEFL certification from Hamline University. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in TESOL from Hamline University. Outside of work, Tu enjoys animated movies, comics, bicycle maintenance, and traditional archery.
