Douglas Purdy

Douglas Purdy is an experienced administrative professional and author currently serving as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since January 2023. In this role, Douglas ensures smooth office operation, coordinates events, and manages communications among faculty and students, while also helping to organize the PIKSI program for underrepresented students in philosophy. Douglas has authored several novels, including works with Éditions JC Lattès and Little, Brown and Company, while also developing scripts for film and television through self-employment at Bearded Muse Industries. Previously, Douglas held roles such as Graduate Program Coordinator at Tufts University, Film Office Coordinator at MIT, and worked in various positions in the education and retail sectors, building a diverse skill set alongside a degree in Literature from UMass Boston.
